About me

I was born in Valenza, Italy—a city long regarded as the heart of Italian jewellery making. From an early age, jewellery was part of my everyday world. The language of goldsmithing surrounded me, shaped by family tradition: my parents and my brother have all worked within the jewellery industry. This environment naturally guided my path.

I studied jewellery design in high school, then continued my education at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan, where I earned a degree in set and costume design. There, my approach to form, proportion, and narrative was further shaped, expanding beyond jewellery into a broader artistic vision.

In 2010, I moved to the Netherlands. A new country, a new culture, and new perspectives marked the beginning of a personal and creative shift. This change awakened a desire to explore, to redefine my work, and to seek new sources of inspiration. From this process of transformation, Dario Scapitta Design was born.

My collections are rooted in the connections between the elements that surround me—natural, architectural, and emotional. Each piece emerges from a dialogue between past and present, tradition and experimentation. I work by combining advanced technologies, such as 3D printing, with traditional techniques like sand casting. Every design begins with sketches, then takes shape through 3D modeling or hands-on sculpting.

After extensive testing and sampling to achieve the right balance and proportions, each piece is handcrafted until its final expression is revealed. I produce jewellery in very limited quantities, often made to order, allowing me to work in a more sustainable way—avoiding overproduction and preserving the integrity and uniqueness of each creation.

Exploring the delicate edge where technology meets craftsmanship, I create jewellery that is both contemporary and timeless. My designs are bold, raw, and alive—surfaces gleaming with high polish or whispering with texture, each piece a dialogue of material and form.

Every collection is conceived and brought to life in my atelier in Enschede, The Netherlands. I favour 925 sterling silver, forged and shaped to reveal varied surface expressions. Drawn to the harmony between design and fashion, I delight in crafting jewellery sets that speak to one another—pieces meant to be collected, cherished, and worn together.

Imperfection is my muse. In the subtle irregularities and hidden nuances of each piece, I find the beauty that mirrors our own inner selves—authentic, unfiltered, and uniquely human.

My work is a continual exploration of shape, material, and technique, resulting in sophisticated collections for the contemporary wearer—those who dare to embrace individuality.

My work in sentences

My jewellery is shaped by a pure and timeless vision, guided by an uncommon aesthetic. Each piece carries a contemporary presence, where modernity meets an understated yet confident edge.

I begin with form—often drawn from nature—observing its lines, its balance, its quiet strength. I seek to capture its essence and transform it into something wearable. From a single shape, multiple possibilities emerge: a ring, a bracelet, a necklace—each evolution faithful to the original idea, yet free to take on its own identity.

My jewellery speaks through contrast. Clean, essential lines are interrupted by raw textures, giving every piece a strong, tactile character. No two are ever exactly the same. Variations in size and proportion allow each jewel to find its own presence, suspended between elegance and a deliberate sense of solidity.

Silver is at the heart of my work. I am drawn to it as a living precious metal—one that reacts, evolves, and ages with time. Through oxidation, light and shadow meet, creating depth and ever-changing reflections. Like wine, silver becomes richer as it grows older. The more it is worn, the more beautiful it becomes, developing a patina that tells a personal story, much like a leather bag shaped by life and use.
